Open for business if somewhat differently!

This current Lockdown Period from January 5th sees Harrison Edge reverting to the now tried and tested processess from the Spring and Autumn.  We are able to work either remotely or physically in the office thanks to technology providing access to our systems from wherever we may be.  The Office itself is required to be Closed to the public but we are able to continue showing property to prospective purchasers in addition to carrying out Market Appraisals.  

Harrison Edge are observing the Guidelines laid down by both the Government and governing professional body, Propertymark/National Association of Estate Agents.  

House Viewings and Property Appraisals are being conducted relatively speaking as normal with participants again wearing appropriate PPE.  No more than 2 people plus Agent are able to attend a House Viewing and Open House Viewings are not allowed.  It is advised Viewers are in a position to proceed or on the cusp of agreeing a sale of their own property to a 'Complete Chain'.


The householder has their part to play too and must prepare the house by cleaning and sanitising surfaces, opening windows, and ensuring maximum ventilation, putting all lights on and opening cupboards as appropriate.  We recommend where possible our Clients 'disappear' and let us conduct the viewings so as to minimise contact wherever possible.  

In terms of market activity; we have experienced an initial phase of able and very willing Buyers quickly out of the traps following the easing of restrictions and snapping up local homes.  The second phase through June led to a very healthy number of new properties coming to market whereas in this third phase, House Hunters were found to far more likely to have their property on the market but without a buyer.  Now as we move into Winter it will be interesting to see how the market reacts post January 5th.  Currently, through this latest Lockdown we are receiving a surprising number of calls and enquiries to properties being seen as new to the market ie properties being remarketd due to a chain collapsing elsewhere.  If you are bold enough to consider marketing your property now, it is very likely you will be 'knocked over' in the rush!
