CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Propertymark, our Professional Association has this morning, 24th March 2020 issued advice following discussion with a senior civil servant at the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Goverment (MHCLG). 

 

The civil servant stated that agents are not “essential businesses” under the new rules and therefore their view is that agents should close their offices immediately.

 

Furthermore, they stated that there should not be any in-person viewings, routine inspections or house moves.

Harrison Edge take their responsibilities very seriously and has been preparing for this moment for the past week.  For the foreseeable future we will be contactable remotely.  A full system is in place to deal with currently agreed sales both those already Exchanged and those heading in that direction.

This morning the British Association of Removers have instructed their Members to cease operations other than those in the throes of being physically moved.

Solicitors in the main are set up to work remotely but without the physical assistance of removal companies, no one is going anywhere for the time being.

Tenants should make contact as required as normal should they be experiencing difficulties.  However, it is likely some Trades may be difficult to engage.  Understanding is required by everyone.
